
Brian
Moody is a music teacher at Whitestone Elementary, in Leander,
Texas. He is also a worship leader at Westover
Hills Church of Christ in Austin, Texas. He and his wife,
LeAnn, have two children; Evan and Paige.
Before
joining Arise, Brian sang with River
City Pops, a choreography based choral group in Austin,
Texas. He also served as a music minister at Calvary Baptist
Church in Manor, Texas and First United Methodist in New Braunfels,
Texas. Brian has also had guest singing appearances with the
University
of Texas Choral Union, Austin
Lyric Opera and Bethany Lutheran church in Austin.
Evelyn
Shewmaker is a Policy Specialist for the Bureau of HIV and STD
Prevention at the Texas Department of Health in Austin. She
has been a member of Arise since 1992. Prior to joining the group,
she sang with the Austin, Texas a cappella group The Sweet Expressions
for thirteen years. She currently resides in Pflugerville with
her husband Chris and their children Zachary, Jordan and Makenzie.
They attend Westover
Hills Church of Christ in Austin.
Jeanette
Tackett is a project manager for J.P. Morgan Chase &
Co. and has a music degree from Abilene
Christian University. She is a former tour promoter for
the group Acappella, formerly a vocalist for The Sweet Expressions, and
formerly the lead vocalist of the rock band Jazmine. Jeanette, a founding member of Arise, is married to fellow
group member Michael Tackett. They live in Arlington, Texas
with their daughters, Michelle and Emily, and attend Christ
Community Church.

Michael
Tackett is the award winning Multimedia Director of Triad
Business Marketing, a full-service ad agency in Dallas. He is also a worship leader
at Christ
Community Church in Arlington, Texas, a
member of the International Academy of the Visual Arts, a member of the Producers & Engineers Wing of The Recording Academy, and a Grammy Awards voter. Mike is a former sound man and studio engineer for the group
Acappella and is a founding
member of Arise. He and his wife, Jeanette (mentioned above), spend spare time working on original music in their home studio.
Missy
Weaver teaches music at Brentwood
Christian School in Austin, Texas. Her classes include fourth
grade music and all choirs, from fifth grade through high school.
Missy is also the director of Encore, Brentwood's honors choir.
Missy,
originally from Houston, received a Bachelor of Arts in
Music with Teacher Certification at Lubbock
Christian University. Her background in music includes
singing with LCU choirs: the A Cappella Chorus, the Women's
Octette and the pop group Forte. She became a member of Arise
in August of 2001. Missy lives in Austin with her dog, Biskit,
and attends Cameron Road Church of Christ.
